Did you ever read a quote, or a saying and it just clicked? It seemed in that very moment that the author was speaking your language and directly to you?
Reading other’s content, interests, and experiences has been a source of great comfort, advice, and assurance for thousands of years. I think most people agree that it is good to know that you are not alone in the world and that someone else gets you.
“No matter how many times something has been said or done before, sometimes it takes that one person in their voice, at the right time for it to actually make a difference.
-Marie Forleo
In today’s article, I will teach you three ways to get paid to share your content online. One of the most rewarding aspects of connecting our Eliot Kelly TV audiences with the world’s greatest minds is the constructive feedback. We continue to receive email testimonials from viewers who say our content has pushed them to dare to try one more time, inspired them, changed their mindset, and ultimately gives them hope and courage to take their lives to the next level.
English Author, Neil Gaiman says, “The one thing that nobody else has is you.” Your content can help others to overcome obstacles, develop discipline, change habits, find significance, and discover new joy. The secret to making money online is to create content people want that either educates or entertains. Three ways to get paid to share your content online with the world include: Starting a YouTube channel, creating an eBook or launching a coaching business.
Start a YouTube channel
The highest paid YouTuber is 7-year-old Ryan, who reviews toys on his YouTube channel, which made him $22 million in 2018. Another high earner is Jeffree Star, who has made more than $18 million on YouTube and has a cosmetic brand that sells about $100 million in products annually. Along with examples like PewDiePie, the above YouTubers provide evidence of the opportunities available using the platform. In a sober way it is fair for me to insert here that not every person who starts a YouTube channel will realise the results above, however their role model does provide hope and certainly an inspiration to consider the proposition.
To start a YouTube channel, focus on a single niche to build a strong, loyal audience. Join the thousands of entrepreneurs who make money online and share their content with the world (24/7) via tutorials, video games, product reviews, skills training, pranks, and anything else they are passionate about.
You will need a minimum of one thousand subscribers before you can officially monetise your channel with YouTube ads. There are generally five ways to make money via the YouTube Partner programme:
Advertising revenue: Get ad revenue from display overlay and video ads.
Channel memberships: Your members make recurring monthly payments in exchange for specials perks that you offer.
Merchandise: Your fans can browse and buy official branded merchandise that is showcased on your watch pages.
Superchat and stickers: Your fans pay to get their messages highlighted in chat streams.
YouTube premium: Get part of a YouTube premium subscriber’s subscription fee when they watch your content.
Bear in mind that YouTube constantly reviews its channels to make sure that the content you post is in line with their policies. Every day, over one billion YouTube videos are watched around the world. The average YouTube mobile viewing session by any one viewer is roughly forty-minutes, according to Omincore, a leading digital advertising and marketing agency.
If you are looking for a quick dollar, YouTube might not be for you, however, if you already have video creation skills or are a fast learner and willing to put in the work, you will be able to make money on YouTube.
Create an eBook
eBooks now sell in the millions each year. eBooks are books but, in a format, where they can be delivered or downloaded online. Like starting a YouTube channel, the advantage of creating an eBook is the ability to tailor your content to niche markets. Some examples of areas you may be able to express your interests and content creation skills include travel guides, how-to manuals, mystery, romance, science-fiction, self-help, technology, religions…. just about anything you may be interested in. For optimal results identify an area that the market is eager to explore and learn about. Figure out what type eBook you want to sell and get to work creating, marketing, and selling content online.
Coach your way to success
Start solving problems and getting paid. The typical coaching program involves three key stages and is relatively easy to scale:
Stage 1 — Designing a program that solves a problem for a fixed cost over a specific timeframe. For example: $1479 for three months of coaching. This helps you attach a desired outcome to the program and hold both you and your client accountable for achieving results.
Stage 2 — Communicating with clients on a scheduled basis. Perhaps this means one hour a week, or maybe it is an hour every two weeks. This time is usually used to answer questions and provide additional support.
Stage 3 — Providing supplementary resources to encourage consistent progress. I provide my clients with what we call the Platinum 90 Day Mentorship Program, which takes them from where they are to where they want to go. My clients can literally change the direction of their lives. I have learned that many people have a goal, they just need help designing the steps to achieve it. Many of my clients, during their consultations, have expressed their annoyance with previous coaches who provided them with generic and cheesy, no-brainer tips like, “Start a website” and “Work on your elevator pitch.”
Recently one of my clients, the senior editor of a popular magazine, left a testimonial based on her experience on the Platinum 90 Day Mentorship Program. Here is what she had to say: “We joined The Platinum 90 Day Business Mentorship program knowing that we were committed to putting in the work required to make our project a success. From the first consultation through to project completion, we felt that we received the full technical and emotional support of Eliot’s team. It was a pleasure working with them which made recommending them to our network the natural thing to do.”
I believe in offering our clients results that stick. Keep reading to gain access to the values that I believe are responsible for our growth and ability to give back to the community.
Create the materials for your first clients by studying and learning from experienced professionals. In the beginning you may not be able to invest in paid training, but I highly advise that as you gain more experience, you invest in paid professional training to deepen your analytical and business skills in your field and to offer your future clients added value. It is inevitable that as you gain more experience you will fine tune your offering and figure out what does not and what does work for you and your clients.
If you experience a hard time finding your first clients, take another look at the language you use to pitch your service. Make sure you are focusing on benefits they will receive from working with you — these benefits should be the pain points you uncovered in your customer research.
““If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.”
-Warren Buffett
Making money while you sleep is not only possible. Making money while you sleep is possible for you. As your mind wraps around the immensity of the opportunities available to us all, remember these five values that have served me and my team and helped us to help others:
– The greatest master was once a disaster
– All skills are learnable
– Integrity above all else
– Give more than you receive
– If you think you can, you will
